For those of us who love Los Angeles, no other city is quite the same. Unfortunately, for every bit of greatness that is the City and County of Los Angeles, there is also sadness and tragedy. In 2008, the GDP (gross domestic product) of Los Angeles County was $491 billion, which was greater than Norway ($481 billion), Greece ($373 billion), or Argentina ($338 billion)[1]. Yet, in November, 2009, Los Angeles County’s unemployment rate was 12.2% [2].
A Community of Friends (ACOF) was the first agency to successfully implement the “permanent supportive housing” model throughout Los Angeles County. In over 20 years, ACOF has grown into one of the most well regarded and well respected affordable housing developers in Los Angeles County. < More >
