YOUR SKILLS CAN CHANGE A LIFE

A Community of Friends is looking for skilled, compassionate volunteers to work directly with our tenants on an on-going basis. Would you be interested in teaching a nutrition class, knitting class, art class, tutoring K-12 students after-school, leading a group on a weekly hike, bike ride or walk to their local farmers markets or even teach a yoga class?

We also engage volunteers to work with our tenants on their independent living skills, parenting skills, financial planning, and more. No matter what your skill, talent, passion or gift may be, we would love to discuss a volunteer opportunity with you.

We ask that our volunteers make an initial three-month commitment. We have 43 buildings throughout Los Angeles and Orange Counties and we are heading into the Inland Empire. Chances are, we have a location near you and an opportunity for you to make a difference in the lives of our tenants.

ADDITIONAL VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

Welcome Baskets
A very popular and rewarding volunteer activity is preparing Welcome Baskets for tenants who move into their new homes. Since many tenants come to A Community of Friends from living on the streets or in shelters, basic needs such as toiletries, towels, dishes, sheets, cleaning supplies and basic household items are an invaluable gift.

To volunteer with A Community of Friends, please send an email to volunteer@acof.org stating your contact information and volunteer areas of interest.
