StepoutWho is Eligible?

Any homeless emancipated youth, male or female who were previously in foster care in the Dependency or the Delinquency system and have a mental health diagnosis which shows you will need assistance in school, work, community family life and interpersonal relationships.  Youth with chemical dependency may be accepted depending on the circumstances and the willingness to attend a program with periodic testing by Step Out staff.  You and your DCFS Worker or Probation Officer can call for an interview with the Step Out Staff.

Requirements:

  1. Download and Complete Intake Packet provided by Step Out
  2. Most recent psychological evaluation with full diagnosis report
  3. Most recent medical evaluation report
  4. Most recent court report

You will also need to provide a copy of:

  • ID
  • Social Security Card
  • Birth Certificate Medi-Cal Card
  • Termination of jurisdiction, “Minute Order” from court*
  • Letter from referring agency on letterhead*
