In recognition of the substantial need for quality, affordable housing tailored to address the concerns of persons with special needs, A Community of Friends (ACOF) was conceived and founded by a leader in the field of service-enriched housing. The Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health supported the vision with seed funding and continues to provide support in varied areas. ACOF's mission is to end homelessness through the provision of quality permanent supportive housing for people with mental illness.
